We know its simple, we know its easy to use - so why is other karaoke software so complicated?

So what is it all about then?

Fancy yourself as the new Robbie Williams or Tom Jones or perhaps you see yourself as one of the Spice Girls? Well look no further, the Gasman Multimedia Karaoke Editor is an application for creating and playing Karaoke files on your own PC. This Windows 95/98 application allows you to play a midi or mp3 file whilst displaying pre-synchronised lyrics in time with the music.

We have synchronised over 500 assorted midi files with their associated lyrics just to get you started. The files can be downloaded directly into the application without even needing your browser. All you need to do is click on the required song and the program will automatically download the files and place the song into the instant-access songlist. The rest is up to you. (We take no responsibility for the quality of your voice!!)

....and how would I create a Karaoke song from scratch?

Start by obtaining a midi or mp3 file - usually from the internet (see my links). Then obtain the lyrics to that song - you can do this by manually typing the lyrics into the program or by importing a text file. You are now ready to go, just play the midi or mp3 file, synchronise the individual lines of the song in real time and save the file ready to be accessed for your Karaoke session.

Synchronising the lyrics is VERY simple. Just press one key to display the lyric line and another to make it disappear in time with the music. If you make a mistake the editor has a number of facilities to allow you to resynchronise a particular line or verse. A detailed helpfile is included in the application.

Anything else of interest?

The application is designed to be used at any Karaoke session. It can be used as easily at home (why not have a Karaoke party!) as in a bar or pub. The software is capable of producing printed songlists to allow people to pick their song. The files can be accessed instantaneously from a simple alphabetical on-screen list. Whether your file is mp3 or midi the application will deal with it transparently.

What makes it different?

Unlike KAR files the text is displayed line-by-line with no 'bouncing ball' to indicate the word that is currently being sung. This has been done deliberately to make the song easier to synchronise as most people know when to sing the individual words anyway.

So who is using it?

Anyone and everyone; A Baptist minister in Arizona uses it during his service instead of hymn books, a band in New Zealand use it for rehearsals, a complany in Australia uses it for their office parties. It's uses are limited only by your imagination.
